Tuesday saw us end the morning BAGS meeting with just the one winner , though it was pleasing to see homebred Salacres Ring winning his heat of the BAGS/SIS 500 A6 Stake in fine style. He'd been tipped up by the Racing Post's Dave Johnstone in the mornings paper and i'm glad he could oblige for his followers. He's a dog who needs things his own way at the bends , any sign of crowding and he's more than likely to allow the other runners a nice passage through rather than take things by the scruff of the neck and take advantage , however given a run he's a genuine dog who will win his share. He'll take his place in the final and with a bit of luck who know's , he could land myself and co owner John Pierrepont a nice prize.
Later on the card it looks like the Phil Jones pound notes were well and truly down on the thrown in Jurame. This bitch hadn't won since her debut A7 effort in September but after six A6 efforts without a win and a downgrade to A7 , it looks like the money was well and truly down judging by an sp of 8/13. Jonesy doesn't get his hand in his pocket very often but when he does you need to stand up and take notice. I think he's still sweating now though as his bitch didn't gain the clearest of runs and only just got up in the shadow of the post , calm down Jonesy the moneys safe.
We're all looking forward to a good weekend , Queen Of Rangers takes her place in the quarter finals of the Oaks at Wimbledon on Saturday , however prior to that we are represented at Harolds Cross on Friday in the Ted Hegarty Marathon first round by Salacres Sparky and Salacres Polizzi. It's always difficult running a track first time but fingers crossed we have a bit of luck and we make the second round draw.
Thanks for reading and good luck.
