It was back to work on Monday and we started the week off in good style , landing a decent treble courtesy of Salacres Smooth (A2) , Isabellas Meako (A4) and Salacres Chip winning his sprint open in great style. Chip has been an excellent find for the kennel and continues to run well.
Tuesdays BAGS meeting saw us land another well received treble. Salacres Maldini got the morning off to a good start , landing the opener in battling style , leading on the run in to take the honours. Next up was Dippy Diva , scoring an all the way success at very rewarding odds of 10/1. She really is Dippy by name and Dippy by nature ! The final leg of the treble was Salacres Fancy winning her A3 race. She stuck on well to take the lead on the run in.
Thursday afternoon we headed to Henlow with 7 runners for opens there that evening. Henlow is a track that we have enjoyed alot of good fortune at but Thursday must go down as one of our worst nights out open racing for a good while. Chips below par performance in his sprint race was a sign of things to come later in the night. Things didn't get much better performance wise , though Khan ran relatively well after early trouble , it really was a night to forget.
Fortunes can change very quickly though in greyhound racing and Friday was a prime example. The night got off to a good start with Salacres Cuban winning her A5 race. Salacres Night took the honours in her A6 , just gaining the upperhand in a close photo finish. Next up was Salacres Johno running in The Owners Bonus Series Final. He ran a blinder from way off the pace to pick up Dromana Susie on the run in. It was a very pleasing performance from this June 2010 whelp and he remains a dog to keep on the right side of for the forseeable future. Salacres Tortuga won his A3 race , though was maybe a tad fortunate that there was trouble on his outside at the first bend. The winning distance of 5 plus lengths was a little flattering I would have to admit.
As always , thanks for reading and stay lucky.
