Tuesdays lunchtime BAGS card was a blank affair on the winners front , we did think that Kaukola Ridge our recent BAGS / SIS 500 Final winner would run a decent race in the S2 event over 680m but though she had every chance going down the back straight she can be a bit of a thinker at times and probably lost a race she could have won , still she ran well enough and it probably shouldn't be too long before she's back in the winners enclosure so keep her in your notebooks.
Wednesday morning was wet , very wet but with 12 unraced pups to get started with on the schooling track it was an early start. Myself and Mark nipped up in the wagon to see Mick Livesey and the team at Dunham Greyhound Centre. Two of the pups had previously had a handslip each and gone fine but with the other 10 it was their very first times at a track. Always a case of having your fingers crossed that they chase on the track , we couldn't have been more pleased. All 12 went around with no problems at all , some a little better than others but for them all to chase we really couldn't have asked for anymore. Fingers crossed that there might be a superstar amongst them , you just never know with pups and that's the beauty , you're buying a lottery ticket and hoping for a Milldean Panther.
Hopefully a few winners over the weekend , we shall see.
