Saturday night we landed a double courtesy of Salacres Boots and Incredible Ruby. Salacres Cookie led the way in the race won by Boots but couldn't get far enough clear to hold off the fast finishing pair of our own Boots and also Mullrook McFly. I know that Phil 'Ya Dogs Chucked In Today' Jones is an avid reader of the blog so i'm sure he'll be pleased to know that McFly has been noted in my big red book of dogs to follow over the next few weeks. His turn is near. Incredible Ruby was our second winner of the night and she remains a pup to keep on the right side of. Handled right she looks certain to improve through a few grades yet.
Monday night we were only lightly represented but a welcome treble was landed. Sour Face is a bitch who's ability should see her winning more races than she actually does but Mondays A3 win showed that the penny is finally dropping and she is heading in the right direction. Our third and final winner of the night was Salacres Ben. He'd ran well on very slow going in his previous race and he stayed on well after taking a second bend lead to land this A2 race.
Tuesdays BAGS meeting saw us improve on our Monday night treble as we landed a four timer. Salacres Fergie can hardly be described as a prolific winner , in fact his A7 victory on Tuesday was only the fourth win of a 37 race career , however he dug in deep on the run in to collar long time leader Sunset Summer right on the line. Our second winner of the day was Salacres Firefox , this looked a tougher A3 than that which he'd won a couple of races previously but he trapped better from his trap 2 berth and stayed on well up the run in to hang on by a length. Salacres Chip has been lightly raced this year and his race on Tuesday was his first start for a month. His best days had looked behind him as injuries have taken their toll , Tuesdays performance rolled back the years though and his pace down the backstraight saw him put this A3 race to bed in double quick time. He remains on the rehoming list though and this stunning looking fawn and white dog should make somebody a great pet when he finally hangs up his racing muzzle and jacket. Our fourth and final winner of the day came in the shape of Salacres Fancy. Fancy was up in grade to A2 after winning last time out in A3 but after taking a first bend lead it was always going to take a good performance to come from behind this strong running bitch and she managed to take the race by 1/2 length from the fast finishing Bessell Ben.
Thanks as always for reading.
