Saturday night we had another very welcome double. Salacres Classic has turned into a really decent performer around Notts and was scoring for the 4th time in his last 8 races when taking this A2. Classic isn't a dog you want in front of you if you're in opposition. Joes A Star is a really consistent dog and gives his all each and every time he runs. Joe was winning for the 3rd time in his last 5 runs. With a second and third also in the bag he's in great form and remains one to keep on the right side of.
Disappointing night on Monday. Represented by a good amount of runners we'd have hoped for a winner or two. Not to be though. You get days and nights like this though , it's a case of moving on and being glad when they all come off the track safe and sound.
We looked to have a few chances on Tuesdays BAGS card and thankfully the fancied runners all read the script. Salacres Walsh and Fintan both finished second in the first couple of races , running good races in defeat. Salacres Dougie hadn't won for a while but simply hasn't been in with too many chances. Today was different however , he looked to have a good chance to lead out wide and though being challenged late on , he dug in deep to take his A2. Next winner on the card was Salacres Colin. One of our older dogs now , Colin looked to be in with an outstanding chance of winning. He's a realiable dog when he's granted such an opportunity and he wasn't for passing this chance up. Two up and one to go to land what looked a likely treble. Salacres McManus hasn't won anywhere near the amount of races as a dog with his ability should have so far. He's just showing signs of finding his way a little more though. A great chance to lead today , like his brother Dougie he took that chance and when challenged off the last he pulled out a bit more to score by a length. A good day and a nice treble landed which didn't go unbacked.
Just a quick update on the pups that we recently took over to Ireland to be schooled. Good news in that they are all chasing well. Further updates to follow.
