It took until late in the meeting on Saturday until we got a winner but like double decker buses two came along quickly. First up was David running in the A1. Once again David showed devastating back straight pace before toying with his rivals on the run for home to win cheekily. In the very next race veteran Michael took advantage of a drop in grade to win in A3.
Just the one winner on Monday night and you guessed it another couple of seconds. Farran Sexton was running over four bends for the first time since June and also took advantage of a drop in grade to run out a comfortable winner of his A2. Whiteys Finest finished second , as did Foxy.
Chances looked thin on the ground on Tuesday , though thankfully Roman Blueboy took advantage of a plot draw on the rail to win his A5.
I was due to collect the pups from their schooler in Ireland on Monday. Unfortunately the van broke down 60 miles from Cairnryan port and I spent the day travelling back on the back of a trailer. I've had better and more productive days to say the least. Peter is over in France this week supporting the very worthy www.headcase.org.uk charity. A team of cyclists are currently making their was from Biarritz on the South-West coast to Collioure on the South East coast. Just the small matter of a few mountains in their way before they reach their destination on Sunday. Any keen cyclists amongst you might be keen to try this trip in the coming years , check out the www.pedal-the-pyrenees.com website for further details.
