Saturday nights meeting again brought us just the sole winner. Salacres Dellboy just getting up in the shadow of the line from our very own Salacres Buttons. Buttons weighs in at around 42kg. He really is a big beast of a dog and must be one of the biggest racing , not just at Notts but over the country as a whole. Salacres Marette represented us in The Owners Bonus Series Final. After walking out the traps he ran a game race to be beaten just over 3 lengths in second.
Monday we had just the 3 runners out , 2 of which were in the same event. No luck on the night as Salacres Rogue and Lanny finished 4th and 6th respectively in their A4 race and Achiles who looked a little out of his depth and priced accordingly when finishing last in his A3 race. No real complaints , Achiles has previously won 3 from his last 4 races and they can't win them all.
Tuesdays BAGS card saw us land a treble with Salacres Kiera , Maldini and Meako all doing the business. We had 3 of our old guard out on duty on Tuesday too. Salacres Power (Jan 2006) , Daves Hope (May 2006) and Battstreet Lena (May 2006) all out on duty. All 3 are now in the twilight stages of their careers but i'm a firm believer that whilst they are still enjoying what they were born to do , then let them run. You're a long time retired afterall.
We had some good news this week too regarding Queen Of Rangers. As reported on an earlier blog we took her over to Frightful Flash Kennels not long ago to be mated to Premier Fantasy. With Queen being a Farloe Oyster bitch that cross is well proven and gives us 16 months worth of dreaming that we may have a Fear Zafonic amongst them , or maybe even another Queen Of Rangers. Queen had a nice size litter of 3 dogs and 4 bitches , not bad for a maiden bitch and I was quite happy with that outcome , though after 1 dog had arrived followed by 4 bitches I was admittedly starting to worry ever so slightly ! My thanks to our friends over at Manilla kennels , Deirdre Walsh and Adrian Markey. They do a brilliant job over there , love their dogs and kept us fully upto date on her progress.
Anyway that's all for now. Must rush , two open racers to prepare for tonight at Henlow , Salacres Vision and Salacres Town. Will be our first visit since we had that four timer a few weeks ago. Both look quite hard in tonight i'd say so i'd settle for two good runs , though as always they're both there to do their best so you never know your luck.
