Moving onto Saturday night and we landed a treble. Salacres Khan is one of the best dogs in the kennel and it was a major blow to lose him to injury in the latter part of 2013. He's been showing signs that he's coming back to his best lately though and Saturday nights win in a D2 sprint was a step in the right direction. He ran really well , driving the second bend in the style of a good dog and pulling away to the pick up. A very pleasing effort. Next up was Salacres Jinsky. She's had one or two chances lately and it was about time she took one. She just got up on the line to complete a nice little double. Our third winner of the night came via Salacres Louise and a very pleasing winner it was too. Louise is another who had been off the card for a while after taking a tumble in a race last October. On Saturday night though she popped out in front and the result never really looked in doubt. She's a nice bitch with a bit of promise and hopefully she'll be worth following throughout the year.
Monday night we were only represented by 3 runners , 2 of which were in the same race. Salacres Paddy could never get competitive after missing his break and first bend trouble , whilst Jason and Oyster ran creditably but never really threatened.
Tuesdays BAGS meeting saw us land another very welcome four timer. Salacres Boots got the morning off to a great start by landing his A4 race by 1/2 length. Salacres Duke meanwhile was scoring for the second time in quick succession as he followed up his A6 win with a victory in A5. The wide tag has now been removed from this dog and I do feel it will be to his benefit. Our third winner of the day came via a rare non Salacres pre-fix runner Incredible Ruby. We'll only take on dogs for owners who know and understand the game and her Scottish based owner / breeder Vincent Lund certainly falls into that category. Ruby ran a great race , trapping out well she took up the lead and ran a race full of pace and power to record a personal best time of 3055 calculated. Bred by new sire Zero Ten out of Vincents own brood bitch Incredible Lulu she's a full sister to the aforementioned Salacres Louise and both look like bitches to keep on the right side of. Our fourth and final winner of the say was also very welcomely received. Salacres Prince is one of our Premier Fantasy x Queen Of Rangers pups and though he won a couple or races early on he's since been a little bit outgraded. It was nice therefore to see him improve his trapping and get out on the bunny to record a personal best time of 3104 calculated. Hopefully the run on the bunny will have served his confidence well and he can begin to add to his current tally of 3 wins.
Overall the dogs in the kennel over the past few weeks have been running brilliantly and fingers crossed this continues.
